The attributes that decide a good match are the specific process, the materials a shop is tooled and experienced for, the tolerance class they can hold, and, for regulated work, their certifications. An AS9100 shop is effectively mandatory for aerospace parts, ISO 13485 for medical devices, and IATF 16949 for automotive production. We confirm those before we route your job.
Casting cost depends on process, alloy, size and volume. Sand casting has low tooling cost and suits large or low-volume parts; investment casting gives fine detail and finish at higher tooling cost. Most castings need some machining on critical features, so quote the casting and the machining together.

The Controlled Goods Program (CGP) is Canada's domestic industrial security program under the Defence Production Act. A shop that examines, possesses or transfers controlled goods or controlled technical data in Canada must be CGP-registered. If your part or its drawings are controlled goods, common in defence and some aerospace work, we route only to registered shops.
